Well the most important step is to get the message out. Most lost pets are seen by many people but not known to be missing. The other problem is lack of interest. Lots of people just don't know what do do with a pet they have found and simply pass by. This is what LOSTPET is trying to overcome with our reward program. If you have come to the conclusion that your pet is not coming home, it may be time to start looking for a to start looking for a new pet. Your local animal shelters may be a good place to start. Although if you want to start with a new puppy, you can search PetTrader.com. They have many pets for adoption as well as for sale.

They're are many NO KILL locations that you can take a pet so it does not get destroyed. Check our Local Shelters for some locations in your area.

What can I do to expedite recovery should I lose my pet again ?
One of the primary goals of LostPet is to allow you to
pre-register your pet with our data base before they
are lost.. This way your pet could be returned, possibly before you even
realize they are missing. With our reward program your registration fee is an
encouragement to others to keep there eyes open and not be shy to get involved.
There are chip implants as well as bar coding methods available. Most
of these options require a Vet
to implement.
